Reading with Tyc, kaufman, Vitale

St. Rocco’s Readings for the Dispossessed presents an evening with Cat Tyc, erica kaufman, and Anna Vitale.
Cat Tyc is a writer/artist whose work exists on the precipice of poetic mediology. She has three chapbooks: An Architectural Seance {dancing girl press & studio} CONSUMES ME ( Belladonna* Collaborative ) and I AM BECAUSE MY LITTLE DOG KNOWS ME (Blush Lit). Her video work has screened in NY and internationally at spaces that include the Microscope Gallery, Anthology Film Archives, CUNY Graduate Center, Brooklyn Museum, Hauser & Wirth, and Kassel Fest. She has directed music videos that have been added to the rotation on LOGO’s NewNowNext and MTVu. She co-curates Poet Transmit which engages in the connections between poetry, transmission, and performance to explore textual practice and modes of transmission and how poetry exists in expanded fields of time. Events have been held at St. Mark’s Poetry Project, Knockdown Center and MOMA Ps1. Cat Tyc is co-director at The Home School in Hudson, NY.

Anna Vitale is a poet, a writer, and the host of the freeform radio program the Tenderness Junction on WGXC 90.7 FM (previously on WFMU). She is interested in improvisation and psychoanalysis. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, she is the author of Detroit Detroit (Roof Books), the pamphlet Our Rimbaud Mask (Ugly Duckling Presse), and other works including Different Worlds (Troll Thread) and Unknown Pleasures (Perfect Lovers). Recent writing has appeared in Full Stop, Ear | Wave | Event, and Counter. You can find a conversation between Anna and Judah Rubin at A Perfect Vacuum. She lives in the Hudson Valley.
